When the email for K Swiss’s launch party arrived in my inbox I was ecstatic, not just because of the beautiful line up which consisted of one of my favourite artists Ray BLK along with, Barney Artist and a DJ set by Charlotte De Carlo, but, because the email came from Studio Notion, who have held some of the best parties I’ve been to this year and have an exceptional DJ (DJ Rashunk).
I’ve been to multiple Notion events this summer, all of which were top tier and their K-Swiss launch party in collaboration with Footasylum was definitely no exception. Although the venue, crowd and atmosphere differed slightly from the first event of theirs that I had attended earlier this year (possibly due to the watered down free drinks), it was still a great experience. Despite arriving there drained (I had just returned to London from Kent after a relatively mad night out) and on my lonesome, I still managed to enjoy the night.
There were some slightly shaky videos recorded, most of my night was spent standing on a chair (short people problems) recording. Although I missed most of the De Carle’s set, both Barney Artist and Ray BLK and gave high energy performances. Ray BLK performed Run, Run and Chill Out with her amazing vocals, amongst other songs and even jumped in to vibe with the crowd at one point which is always a lovely thing for artists t do. Despite having seen Barney Artist live once before I have still failed to learn his songs, but his performance was equally as good as it was clear that the audience was feeding of his energy and he is definitely one of the young artists to watch out for in the coming year.
