Grace Carter @ Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen (06/06/2018)

This was a special one. After a year of supporting bigger acts such as Dua Lipa, Mabel and Haim.

This was Grace Carter’s very first headline show.

Her supporting act anaïs, a young upcoming RnB vocalist that is already making a name for herself, as George Wright (i_D article link) perfectly describes her style:

I could have not said it any better. She had an array of instruments that could barely fit on the small stage –  including a cello, congo drums and a collection of different shakers.

Anaïs and the band projected vibes from the stages with smiles on their faces. Go and give her listen:

She’ll definitely be on the rise. Here’s a link to her latest before zero EP. Keep you eyes and ears peeled for her.

(Unfortunately, I do not have any photos as my phone did not cooperate with me.)

Grace Carter steps from the black curtain onto the stages with the screams of friends and supporters echoing around the room.

She preformed the entirety of her Saving Grace EP as well as songs she’s been leaking on during her opening sets for other artists. Each song expressing a sense of vulnerability with underlying strength behind it all. Her voice skillfully adds nuances of emotion that just resonates with you on a deeper level.

She was on the verge of tears towards the end of her set and was extremely endearing. I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us.

Until Next Time,
Salve Salvaña
