HFF-Romance of Autumn: Toradora!

Hiya Guys!

Autumn, the most bittersweet season, as the once luscious green leaves of the trees now lay upon the streets and pavements in multiple blends of yellow, orange and red. It serves as a reminder that all good things come to an end, a fact that is continuously empathised every time we complete a brilliant series.

Bittersweet being a constant theme through out Toradora! have endings called Vanilla Salt and Orange, this balanced out with the upbeat openings Pre-Parade and silky heart. All of which highlight particular aspects of the series and they are also amazing watch if you wanted to be reminded of the anime along with the emotions it had evoked.

Toradora! is one of those deceiving anime with a hilarious front which surprises you with a sucker-punch to the face. A common device that animes use to play with our hearts, causing us to laugh and cry with the characters we have come to love.

Meet the odd couple: Ryuuji Takasu, the mislabeled ‘delinquent’ with a passion for housework, and Taiga Aisaka, the vicious yet adorable ‘Palmtop Tiger’. Taiga is two cups of tsun and a tablespoon of dere – deeming her as one of the Tsundere Queens, voiced by Rie Kugimiya.

[Ryuuji gets abused a lot…]

The show doesn’t have a shortage of over-the-top slapstick comedy as all the characters are entangled in a love web including the odd couple’s best friends: Yuusaku “Maruo” Kitamura, the seemingly mature class representative, and Minori “Minorin” Kushieda, the overly energetic airhead.  Ami  Kawashima, the manipulative and mischievous onlooker, who is constantly called “Stupid Chihuahua” by Taiga, though they become closer as the series progresses.

[Tribute to best friends] (I’m in love with Minorin)

The anime follows these collection of interesting characters as they try to free themselves from the complicated web of love and feelings, as they all come to realise who they truly love.  Filled to the brim with tears and laughter, I highly recommend this popular tear jerker.

[Tribute to Ami … who has to put up with this lot]

Feelings are coming…
